Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information this site collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. It applies to jayfrey.com ("the site"), operated by Jay Frey ("I", "me").

Information I collect

Information you give me. When you use the contact form, I collect the details you enter — your name and email, and optionally your phone number, company, area of interest, budget, and message. If you create an account for the learning area, I collect your name, email, and a securely hashed password; if you sign in with Google, I receive your name and email from Google.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, my server keeps standard logs (such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request) for security and troubleshooting. The site sets a small number of cookies needed to work — see Cookies below.

Learning activity. If you take a course, I store your progress and assessment results so you can resume and see your competency profile.

How I use your information

I use the information I collect to:

  • respond to your enquiries and provide the services you ask for;
  • create and manage your account and track your learning progress;
  • keep the site secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems;
  • meet legal and record-keeping obligations.

I do not sell your personal information, and I don't use it for advertising.

Cookies

The site uses essential cookies only: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, an optional "remember me" cookie if you choose it, and a security token that protects forms against cross-site request forgery. These are required for the site to function; I don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but some features (like signing in) won't work without them.

Third parties

I share personal information only with the services needed to run the site, and only as far as necessary:

  • Email delivery — messages you send through the contact form are delivered to my inbox via an email provider.
  • Google — if you choose "Sign in with Google," Google handles authentication. The site also loads web fonts from Google, which involves a request to Google's servers.

I may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of the site and its users.

How long I keep it

I keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above — for example, contact enquiries for as long as needed to follow up, and account and learning data for as long as your account is active. You can ask me to delete your information at any time (see below).

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information I hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain uses. To exercise any of these, get in touch using the details below and I'll respond within a reasonable time.

Security

I take reasonable measures to protect your information — passwords are hashed, and forms are protected against common attacks. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so I can't guarantee absolute security, but I work to keep your data safe.

Children

The site isn't directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and I don't knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. When I do, I'll revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may be highlighted on the site.
